"En route to a business meeting I had a two hour flight to negotiate. As well as taking the opportunity to fly through a few real clouds I also wanted to use the time to revise the concept for our Fabasoft trade show booth at the Forrester IT Forum EMEA 2011 in Barcelona on my notebook. Fabasoft is a Silver Sponsor of this important European IT event for already the second time. All the relevant documents were naturally in a Team Room in the Cloud, so that our advertising agency and the company producing our tradeshow booth could also both have access to the up to date documents. Internet is now available on long haul flights with Lufthansa (great news!), but unfortunately not (yet?) on short flights within Europe like mine. However, with the new synchonized folders available with Folio Cloud I had the perfect solution.

From Cloud to notebook

Before boarding the plane I had logged on and openened up my Cloud Folder on my iPad. I found the relevant folder containing all the material for the tradeshow booth and clicked Synchronize. The green tick showed me that the folder had successfully synchronized, meaning all data contained in that folder was now available to me offline on my hard drive. During the flight I could sit back, work on the booth concept and of course enjoy the views from above the clouds.

From Notebook to Cloud

After leaving the plane I enjoyed a cappuccino in the airport lounge and connected with the Cloud via the WLAN. With one click all the documents that I’d edited and saved locally were synchonized with the Team Room in the Cloud. The advertising agency and the production company now had access to the most up to date documents.“
